About Zubuyer Kaolin

Hello, my name is Zubuyer Kaolin. I'm an amateur astronomer, astrophotographer, designer, coder and maker with an obsession to capture the beauty of our universe.

I've been doing astrophotography since 2019. My interest in space began at a very early age. I even made a very basic telescope to see the stars when I was 12.

Unfortunately, life got in the way, and for many years I had to be away from it. Eventually, space found its way back into my life.

In September of 2019, I learned that you can take photographs of nebulae with a regular camera. So, I rushed to my rooftop and took a bunch of exposures, and after processing those images, I saw a faint glow of interstellar gas and dust. I had to dig deeper.

I wanted to start from where I left off. This time I designed and built a new and improved telescope that can be used to take images of celestial objects. The first thing I photographed was a partial solar eclipse in December of 2019. I was delightfully hooked on the whole process.

The universe opened itself to me. Now taking images of space gives me immense joy, and I love the fact that I could do this my entire life and still find new things to photograph or find new techniques to improve.

I always like to challenge myself to push my own and my gear's capabilities. My goal is to keep taking images of space in better definition and telling stories that have been unfolding for billions of years. And in the process, inspire others to look up and see the wonders of our universe.

Clear skies!
